About the Center

The First Dedicated Rehabilitation Center for Women in Himachal Pradesh

Vaishalya Healing is not another nasha mukti kendra. It is Himachal Pradesh's first and only women-exclusive residential rehabilitation and de-addiction center, located in Palampur, Kangra, nestled in the foothills of Dhauladhar.

We built this center because women struggling with chitta, alcohol, and other addictions in Himachal Pradesh had nowhere safe to go. Every existing facility was mixed-gender, under-equipped, or out of reach. We changed that.

Under the Asha Bhupender Charitable Trust and led by clinical psychologist Leena Mehta, we offer evidence-based, affordable, dignified care in a serene mountain setting, where women can heal without fear, shame, or judgment.

Women-Only, Always Safe

No mixed wards. No male patients. A space where women speak freely and heal fully.

Led by a Qualified Psychologist

Leena Mehta holds a postgrad in Psychology, a Diploma in Guidance and Counselling, and an APA-authorized certification.

Affordable, NGO-Backed Care

Operated under the Asha Bhupender Charitable Trust, keeping costs accessible without compromising quality.

Why Vaishalya Healing

What Makes This De-Addiction Center in Kangra Different

Most nasha mukti kendras in Himachal Pradesh are general facilities built for men. We were made specifically for women, and that difference is felt in everything we do.

First Women-Exclusive Rehab in HP

Before Vaishalya Healing, there was no dedicated residential facility in Himachal Pradesh that served only women. We changed that, because safety and privacy matter for healing.

Evidence-Based, Not Punitive

No punishments, no shame, no restraints. Our approach uses clinical psychology, CBT, motivational interviewing, and trauma-informed care. Recovery should feel safe, not feared.

Specialized in Chitta and Opioid Recovery

Chitta (heroin) addiction is a growing crisis across Himachal Pradesh. Our team is specifically trained in opioid dependency treatment, including medically supervised detoxification and long-term counselling.

Luxury Without the Metro Price Tag

A serene setting in Palampur's foothills. Clean rooms, nutritious food, yoga spaces, and therapeutic gardens. The quality of a premium rehab center, at a cost accessible to Himachal families.

Complete, Holistic Programs

From medically supervised detox to yoga, family counselling, vocational training, and aftercare planning. We do not just stop the addiction. We rebuild the person.

Absolute Confidentiality

We understand the social stakes in Himachal communities. Everything shared with us stays with us. No family will be contacted without your consent, and no information will ever be disclosed externally.

Our Programs

Rehabilitation and De-Addiction Services for Women

Every woman who walks through our doors receives a personalized treatment plan, built around her specific needs, history, and recovery goals.

Program 01

Medical Detoxification

Safe, clinically supervised withdrawal management for chitta, heroin, alcohol, and prescription drug dependence. Medications are used where appropriate to reduce withdrawal discomfort and medical risk.

Program 02

Residential Inpatient Care

Full residential programs of 30, 60, or 90 days in a structured, women-only environment. Daily routine, therapeutic activities, meals, and round-the-clock care included.

Program 03

Individual Counselling and Therapy

One-on-one sessions with a qualified psychologist addressing trauma, shame, co-occurring depression, anxiety, and the root causes behind addictive behavior.

Program 04

Group Therapy Sessions

Facilitated peer group sessions where women share experiences in a moderated, safe setting. Breaking isolation is one of the most powerful steps in recovery.

Program 05

Family Counselling

Addiction affects the whole family. Our family counselling sessions rebuild trust, improve communication, and equip loved ones to support recovery without enabling relapse.

Program 06

Yoga, Meditation and Holistic Healing

Daily yoga and guided meditation restore physical health, regulate the nervous system, and rebuild a healthy relationship with the body. Especially effective alongside clinical treatment.

Program 07

Vocational and Life Skills Training

Confidence, financial independence, and a sense of purpose are part of sustainable recovery. Vocational sessions prepare women for meaningful reintegration into society and work.

Program 08

Psychiatric Assessment and Dual Diagnosis

Many women struggling with addiction also carry undiagnosed depression, PTSD, bipolar disorder, or anxiety. Our team assesses and treats these co-occurring conditions alongside addiction.

Program 09

Aftercare and Relapse Prevention

Discharge is not the end. Structured aftercare includes follow-up sessions, relapse prevention planning, online support, and community check-ins for up to 12 months post-treatment.

The Center

A Safe Space to Heal

Located in Palampur, Kangra, against the backdrop of the Dhauladhar mountains. Clean, peaceful, and built for women's wellbeing.

What Families Say About Our Rehab Center

Real experiences shared by women and families who found their way back through Vaishalya Healing. Names changed to protect privacy.

"

My daughter struggled with chitta for three years. We searched every nasha mukti kendra in Himachal Pradesh and found nothing suited for women. When we found this center in Palampur, within four months she was back home, healthy, working. The counsellors treat patients like people, not problems.

Rajesh K. (Family Member) Dharamshala, Kangra
"

This is the only rehabilitation center in HP dedicated to women. The environment felt safe in a way that no mixed facility ever could. I was able to talk about things I had been carrying for years. Fourteen months sober. I am a different person now.

Kavitha S. (Recovery Alumni) Shimla, Himachal Pradesh
"

I came here for alcohol dependency after years of trying on my own. Leena ji listened for an hour before suggesting anything. The sessions never felt clinical or cold. The yoga program and group therapy together gave me back something I thought I had lost permanently.

Priyanka D. (Recovery Alumni) Mandi, Himachal Pradesh
"

The facility near Palampur is clean, peaceful, and nothing like the kind of nasha mukti kendras we had all heard horror stories about. My sister stayed for 60 days and came back confident and sober. The aftercare follow-ups continued for months after discharge. Truly outstanding.

Anita R. (Family Member) Chandigarh, Punjab
"

I did not believe I deserved help. This center changed that. The vocational training alongside therapy helped me rebuild confidence and sobriety together. For any woman in Palampur, Kangra, Kullu or nearby looking for a women's rehabilitation center near her, this is it. No comparison.

Reema K. (Recovery Alumni) Palampur, Kangra
"

As a working woman from Shimla, I was deeply ashamed to seek help for my dependency on anxiety medication. Here, no one made me feel that shame. The individual sessions with Leena ji were transformative. I have been clean for eight months and have my career and self-respect back.

Sonal M. (Recovery Alumni) Shimla, Himachal Pradesh

Questions About Our Women's Rehabilitation Center in Himachal Pradesh

Vaishalya Healing in Palampur, Kangra is Himachal Pradesh's first and only dedicated women-exclusive rehabilitation center. Led by clinical psychologist Leena Mehta under the Asha Bhupender Charitable Trust, it offers evidence-based, affordable, and dignified care for women struggling with addiction and co-occurring mental health conditions. No other center in the state is exclusively built for women.
Yes. Vaishalya Healing is the first women-exclusive nasha mukti kendra in Palampur, Kangra district. Before this center, women in HP seeking residential de-addiction treatment had no women-only facility available within the state. We provide both residential and outpatient support in a fully safe, women-only environment.
Chitta is a local term in Himachal Pradesh for heroin, smack, or brown sugar. It is a highly addictive opioid that has become a severe public health crisis across HP, particularly in Kangra, Kullu, Mandi, and Chamba districts. Yes, Vaishalya Healing provides specialized treatment for chitta addiction including medically supervised detoxification, withdrawal management, individual counselling, and structured long-term recovery programs.
Yes. Cannabis-based addiction including bhang, charas, and ganja is treated at our center. Prolonged use of these substances, especially when combined with other drugs like chitta, can cause serious psychological dependence, paranoia, memory impairment, and psychosis. We address these through structured counselling, therapeutic programs, and where needed, psychiatric support.
Vaishalya Healing was created to make quality rehabilitation accessible to Himachal Pradesh families without forcing a choice between cost and care. Our programs are significantly more affordable than metro-based luxury centers while maintaining high clinical standards. Program fees vary based on duration and type. Please contact us directly or fill the form above for a detailed, transparent cost breakdown tailored to your specific situation.
Program duration depends on the individual's specific needs, substance involved, and severity of dependence. Short-term residential programs run for 30 days. Extended programs run for 60 to 90 days. Aftercare and structured follow-up support continue for 6 to 12 months beyond discharge. The initial intake assessment determines the right program length for each woman.
Absolutely. We understand the deep social sensitivity around addiction in Himachal Pradesh's communities. All treatment is private and confidential. Nothing is shared without your written consent. Your identity and treatment details are never disclosed to employers, neighbors, extended family, or any external party. Confidentiality is not just a policy here. It is a commitment we take seriously.
Yes. To our knowledge, Vaishalya Healing is the first dedicated, women-exclusive residential rehabilitation and de-addiction center in the state of Himachal Pradesh. Before this center opened, women seeking residential addiction treatment in HP had no facility designed exclusively for them. This is a gap we are proud to have filled.
The first step is a simple phone call or filling the enquiry form on this page. A counsellor speaks with you or the family, understands the situation, and guides you through the next steps. There is no obligation and no pressure. A clinical intake assessment is conducted on the day of admission to create a personalized treatment plan before any program begins.
Yes. Family involvement is a key part of sustainable recovery. We offer structured family counselling sessions that help loved ones understand addiction, avoid enabling behaviors, rebuild trust, and support recovery after discharge. Family visits are welcomed at scheduled times designed to support rather than disrupt the treatment process.
Yes. Online consultations with Leena Mehta are available for pre-admission assessment, outpatient counselling, and post-discharge follow-up. This is particularly valuable for families in remote parts of Himachal Pradesh, or for women who need a confidential initial conversation before committing to residential treatment.
Discharge is the beginning of a new chapter, not the end of our involvement. Our structured aftercare includes regular follow-up calls and sessions, relapse prevention planning, online counselling, connections to community support groups, and family guidance sessions for up to 12 months post-treatment. Recovery is a long-term journey and we are with every woman through it.
The center is located in Palampur, which falls within Kangra district, Himachal Pradesh. Palampur is approximately 35 km from Dharamshala, 40 km from Kangra town, and easily accessible from Pathankot, Una, and Hamirpur. We serve women from across all districts of Himachal Pradesh including Kangra, Mandi, Kullu, Shimla, Chamba, Hamirpur, Una, Solan, and Sirmaur.
Yes. Alcohol dependency is one of the most common issues we address, particularly in women who have used alcohol as a coping mechanism for depression, trauma, or domestic stress. Treatment includes medically safe detoxification, motivational enhancement therapy, CBT, and family work. Women seeking a de-addiction center for alcohol near Palampur, Dharamshala, or Kangra will find dedicated support here.
Most nasha mukti kendras in Himachal Pradesh are general or male-dominated facilities that often rely on restrictive or punitive methods, without qualified clinical oversight. Vaishalya Healing is women-exclusive, led by a certified clinical psychologist, uses evidence-based methods including CBT, motivational interviewing, and trauma-informed care, and combines clinical treatment with holistic support like yoga and vocational training. There is no punishment. There is only healing.
Yes. Vaishalya Healing operates under the Asha Bhupender Charitable Trust, a registered charitable trust in Himachal Pradesh. All clinical services are provided by qualified professionals holding verifiable credentials and certifications. We welcome families to ask for documentation and verification before making any decision.
Yes. Clinical treatment and holistic healing are not separate at Vaishalya Healing. They are integrated. Daily yoga, guided meditation, nutritional support, nature walks, art therapy, and vocational activities are all part of the residential program. For women recovering from addiction, restoring the relationship with the body is as important as stopping the substance.
This fear is completely understandable, and it is one of the biggest barriers to women seeking help in India. You can reach out by phone or WhatsApp for a completely private conversation with no commitment or pressure. Nothing will be discussed with your family without your permission. The first call costs you nothing. Waiting can cost everything. Please reach out.
